He collects our tears in a jar
To one day be redeemed
He sees who we truly are
And loves us all the same.
He sees our struggles
He sees our pain
He heals, restores
His faithfulness remains.
He collects our tears in a jar
To one day be redeemed
He sees who we truly are
And loves us all the same.
He sees our struggles
He sees our pain
He heals, restores
His faithfulness remains.
Although His timing may be different
He works everything into his picture
We are here to be moved at His will
We just need to keep trusting and be still
Closer closer, Lord to Thee
My spirit gets every day
Trusting You for the desires of my heart
And my earthly needs while on the way
To an ever after in glory bright
Where I’ll behold You, your beauty
Your radiant light
If You are who you say you are
Then I don’t need to worry
If you are who you say you are
This is all under your control
If you are who you say you are
You have plans for every tomorrow
If you are who you say you are
Troubles for today, I need not borrow
I’ll keep reminding myself
To place my hope in You
Not in another, not in a circumstance
Not in flashes of temporary hope before me
Nor memories of victories past
No, only in You
Will I hope and rely
On the Rock of Your truth and promises
Will I place each brick of my life.
“It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.” Luke 6:48
Return our gaze to You
After whiplash has struck
And our mind’s all a muck
Focus our efforts on each step
You’ve shown is right
Work hard, love hard
Pray in faith day and night
Submit to Your plan
Trust You to see it through
Surrender answers we don’t have
Choose to trust in You
Letting go of what you fought to embrace
Discovering oft “no” is a gift of grace.
Elevating my beliefs to your truths requires turning away from lies
Lies that say life’s goal is reaching self satisfaction
That all must be well around me before following through with godly action
Earthly troubles are my perimeter, the plain I clearly see.
Looking beyond to the heavenly is what You are asking of me.
My reservoir is empty
All I can do is pray
Coming to you humbled
Lord have your way
My shield is broken
My defenses fallen down
I’ve given up fighting
Its Yours to win or lose now
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
I see this is by Your hand.
Though not all will understand
How You’ve led me into
Your promised land
The pasture is green
The waters so wide
A land flowing with honey
You there by my side
My soul is refreshed
My heart so content
Each labored step led
By divine Providence
Years in the storm
Now worth the wait
The desires that were born
The mistakes that were made
The changes that occurred
All through grace
Ushering me here
To this moment, this place
Psalm 23:1-6
1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, a
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
This is not the path I had in mind
These are not the troubles
I would have designed
But my easy roads
would never have known
The beauty your paths have shown
so I will trust in you
What if…
I never discover a solution
My battles never find resolution
My actions never match my words
My thoughts are always disturbed
I never write a famous song
I never find a place to belong
My worry doesn’t cease
My soul never finds peace
What if…
Promises are fulfilled
I perfect the art of being still
I continue to grow and gain
I find purpose in the pain
I gain insight and faith
I discover new strength
I hold fast to the truth
I stay beside You
What if…
