Heaven’s Timeline

Empty this vessel

Until it’s ready to be filled

By only your Spirit

And heaven’s will

My needs, my wants

Mean not a thing

When all my desires

Are born from my King

You keep watch

You’ve numbered my days

Fulfilling Your purpose

Through each promise displayed

Dichotomy of Life

The tides wash over me

But I don’t drown

I walk through darkness

Yet I’m found

Your love pours down

I battle with demons

Yet You lend strength

My feet tread this world

But my spirit in grace

I see your face

Beautiful, wonderful

Glimpses of your heart

Too great to fathom

But this vision You impart

I’m not scared of the dark

One Day at a Time

In your hope, I live and breathe

I turn away from fear and find your peace

In your will, my purpose is seen

I turn away from self and find your serenity

“Go forth”, You say, “in confidence”

Carrying your strength, I need no defense

On a mission to love and provide

Hope for the hurting with no ill-will or pride

To live a life of service to others

Setting all selfish motives aside

I follow your footsteps one day at a time

Just Breathe

Breath, just breath

Surrender your burdens

Inhale my peace

Rest, rest in Me

Cease your toiling

All your worries, release

Live, live joyfully

Exchange your sorrows

For the new life I give abundantly

His Presence

You’re here with me today

Refreshing and guiding

Reassuring and confiding

Plans You have for me

You’re here with me today

Tangible and not hiding

Whispering and providing

Strength I hadn’t seen

You’re here with me today

Don’t take Your presence away

Stay with me always.

Will You

Will You do it for me

Will You be my strength

Will You face my enemies

And counsel me at length

Will You bring redemption

And hold me safely there

Will You offer forgiveness

Will You hear my prayer?

Psalm 91:4

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

For Sinners

Jesus is with me

because I have the greatest need

He didn’t come for the Saints

For those strong in good deeds

He came for sinners

He came for me

Mark 2:17

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

These Three

Pride quiet yourself

You will not be entertained

Suffer silently through

your offense and inflated pain

Regret you’ve been replaced

This is no longer your domain

You ruled uselessly for years

Now turn and go on your own way

And last but not least

I am abandoning you fear

For all the missed opportunities

You caused me while here

1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Leading

Here in this discomfort

You work out your will

Wrestling with my desires

You call me to be still

Watching and waiting

Trusting Your heart today

Patiently anticipating

Your hand to lead the way
