Heaven’s Timeline

Empty this vessel

Until it’s ready to be filled

By only your Spirit

And heaven’s will

My needs, my wants

Mean not a thing

When all my desires

Are born from my King

You keep watch

You’ve numbered my days

Fulfilling Your purpose

Through each promise displayed

Thought Life

Sometimes I forget to breathe

And the anxiety builds inside of me

Negative thoughts begin to attack

And all I can see is all that I lack

Other times life is roses and rainbows

I find purpose in every trial life throws

I feel strong, confident and unbreakable

I win every challenge and keep my life stable

Then there’s the in between, the unknown

Where I forget who I am and the wrong roads I follow

Reality is in question, I fear and I hide

False beliefs emerge, You disappear from my sight.

So what does your Word say to manage the three

Into a right and healthy mentality?

You say think on those things that are lovely and true

Things that are pure and of good repute.

Think on things that are just and have virtue

Honorable and bring praise to You

To take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ

To draw my strength from your sacrifice.

The battles in my mind with long suffering I’ll endure

Knowing the war has been won and You are the Victor

This world will bring trouble, but You have overcome

So through the trials and tribulations, I’ll cling to your Son

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Sing

You give me a song to sing

When my heart is trembling

When sorrow is knocking on the door

You give me a song to sing

When my life is struck by thunder

When I can carry on no more

You give me a song to sing

To rise my tune above all earthly things

And on your wings of gladness soar

“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Hope

You are near to the broken hearted

You are near to those lost

Your faithfulness to us

Came at a great cost

You don’t see our iniquity

You don’t see our faults

Your Son paid that price

On the cross

We live in a world

Where questions abound

Doubt seeps in

And hopelessness is found

But Your Word and truth

Gives hope

Your voice and forgiveness

Helps us to cope

Every moment brings a new promise

A new sunrise and change

Every prayer makes us feel heard

And gives us hope for the next day

His Presence

You’re here with me today

Refreshing and guiding

Reassuring and confiding

Plans You have for me

You’re here with me today

Tangible and not hiding

Whispering and providing

Strength I hadn’t seen

You’re here with me today

Don’t take Your presence away

Stay with me always.

In the Arms of God

Fall into my arms

You’ll find a safe haven here

I’m a Father who sees and cares

I’ll wipe away every tear

You don’t need to scramble

To self resolve or heal

My tender arms will do it

Just trust me and be still

Written

Uncertainty need not lurk in our minds

Obsessing about allowed or forbidden

He’s won the war and determined our course

The end has already been written

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:37-39

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Phillipians 1:6

“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5

Don’t be a Crybaby

He will always respond to a repentant heart with grace
But come to Him with an argument
and you’ll fight and kick to defend your case

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Captain God

This restless sea inside of me

Tries to pull me under

But I’ve learned to sail by the winds of Your Word

Unmoved by strike nor thunder

My compass spins out of control

Guided by worry and doubt

But my Captain aboard anticipated the course

And lovingly steers the whole route

I cannot see what’s ahead of me

But certain treasures I know will be there

His companionship and peace sustain me

As I sail with my God in prayer.

Sacrifice – The Essence of His Love

May I never grow complacent
Toward You or Your love
May my eyes never wonder
Lest I forget that You’re enough

Your love is pure
Your thoughts are gold
Your intentions holy
Your passion, bold

You sent Your Son as the greatest sacrifice
Your unequivocal love on display
You saw our debt and You paid the price
Revealing Your love in the costliest of ways.

“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”

Psalm 63:3
